Schools and universities
Registration week: admissions, fees, records and student affairs, and four hundred people who all arrived at nine.
The problem
The load is not steady — it is nothing for three weeks and everything for two days, and the two days are the ones that are remembered. Whatever runs the queue has to be usable by staff who last saw it a year ago and were not trained on it this year.
What QueueFlow does about it
- One board per branch and one button on it. A member of staff who has not seen it since last September can call the next student without being shown how.
- Online check-in before they set off, so the hall fills at the rate the counters can absorb rather than at the rate the doors admit.
- Reports afterwards showing when the two days actually peaked, which is how next year gets staffed properly rather than remembered wrongly.
Two days that are busy instead of two days that go wrong.
