The customer who was called and had gone

Warn them before their turn, and marking somebody absent stops being unfair.

The problem

Somebody who waits forty minutes will go and sit somewhere else, and being called while they are away is not their fault. Marking them absent for it produces a complaint the counter cannot answer.

What QueueFlow does about it

  • A message when they reach the position you choose — from their real place in the line, not from arithmetic on ticket numbers, so it is still right after somebody has been reordered.
  • Sent once and only once, whatever happens to the line afterwards, so a busy queue does not send the same customer five copies.
  • The absence rule refuses to work at all unless the warning is on, because marking somebody away when nobody told them to come back is not something to automate.

Fewer empty counters, and no argument at the desk about whether they were told.
